Affiliate Disclosure
FTC disclosure:Bedrocka Tools participates in affiliate and referral programs. When you click a link or sign up through a partner we mention, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We only partner with products we've independently evaluated and would recommend to a friend. Affiliate revenue does not influence calculator logic or editorial content.
How we pick partners
Every partner we list has been through an internal evaluation: founder-team review of the actual product, a read of their public terms, and a sanity check of their pricing against competitors. We decline partnerships from products we wouldn't use ourselves or wouldn't recommend to a peer — commission rate is never the tiebreaker.
Our affiliate cards are labeled “Editorial pick · Affiliate partner” and always carry the short-form disclosure inline with the card so you never have to infer that a recommendation is monetized.
Editorial independence
Calculator logic — the guideline formulas, the discount rates, the fee schedules, the statutory thresholds — is the same regardless of whether a partner would prefer a different output. If a partner ever asks us to tune a calculator to favor their product, we end the partnership, publicly. Editorial recommendations in our FAQs and articles are based on our own judgment and the underlying primary sources, not on what generates the highest commission.

Partner categories on this site
The affiliate and referral relationships relevant to Legal DIY & Cost Estimator fall into the following categories. Active partners are listed in the partner table above; this section documents the category logic.
- Legal services marketplaces — providers such as Rocket Lawyer and Avvo that offer affiliate or referral programs for individuals seeking attorney connections. Recommendations are based on verified attorney availability, transparent pricing, and reputation — not commission rate. We verify program status before listing any partner in this category.
- Online document automation — providers such as LegalZoom for individuals seeking self-help legal documents (divorce filings, child-custody agreements, demand letters). These tools are appropriate for straightforward matters; we note clearly when a matter is likely to require a licensed attorney rather than a document service.
- Business formation and registered-agent services — providers such as Northwest Registered Agent and ZenBusiness. Northwest Registered Agent is Bedrocka's own registered-agent provider; we cite it for E-E-A-T context but do not earn affiliate commission on it and label it accordingly.
- Case management software (attorney audience) — providers such as Clio for attorneys and paralegals who use this site as a preparation tool. Evaluated on case-management capability, billing features, and client-facing tools.
- Pre-settlement funding — affirmative non-promotion policy. Pre-settlement funding (lawsuit advance, litigation funding) companies frequently offer affiliate commissions. This site will not promote pre-settlement funding products. Pre-settlement funding carries effective annualized rates that can reach triple digits; the disclosure requirements are often inadequate; and the products are structurally predatory for claimants who are already in a vulnerable position. If this policy ever changes, we will require that any such partner disclose the full effective cost on the referral page — but we do not anticipate changing this policy.
- Paid lawyer-matching services — several services charge attorneys for lead referrals. We will only recommend services we can independently verify on the merits (attorney vetting, fee transparency, client reviews). We do not accept commissions from services we cannot independently evaluate.
Revenue transparency
The two revenue streams for this site are display advertising (Google AdSense, Mediavine when eligible) and the affiliate partnerships listed above. Together they fund the development of new calculators, the quarterly source reviews, and the ongoing maintenance of the site. We do not accept sponsored posts, sponsored calculator placements, or paid-for editorial content. If that ever changes, we will add a visible disclosure on the specific page and update this policy.
